The Corporate Mirage
When I created my professional profile, I didn't have unrealistic expectations, and my time there wasn't a total loss. In less than a month, I actually managed to make a few decent connections. There are absolutely good, well-meaning people on the platform who genuinely want to network and support one another.
This post isn't a petty grievance or a bitter complaint. It is a necessary awareness warning about a hidden, calculated agenda that exists beneath the surface — one that feels dark, organized, and honestly, kind of evil.
The Pristine Illusion vs. The Selective Reality
The corporate marketing surrounding these networks promises a safe harbor. We are constantly reminded of strict community standards that don't exist.
Once you step inside and truly observe how the system is gamed, you see the hypocrisy. The "community standards" are heavily enforced against independent creators, artists, songwriters, and indie artists who are just trying to share their authentic work. Meanwhile, an organized underbelly of hostile users is allowed to operate with total impunity.
The Target: Anyone Who Creates (and the Anti-AI Witch Hunt)
The hostility on this platform isn't random, isolated internet drama. It is a coordinated effort run by specific inner circles who have weaponized the debate around modern creative tools. If you write, compose, or create outside their narrow, rigid definitions, you become a target.
I saw this happen to countless music creators who use AI in their process, including myself. The wolfpack treats AI-assisted creativity like a crime, launching personal attacks and spreading crazy nonsense, accusing creators of "stealing" or delegitimizing their effort.
The psychological pressure is so intense that it forces talented people to defend themselves by diminishing their own accomplishments. I watched creators changing their profiles, making excuses for their art, or downplaying their fully realized songs as "just demos." They do this believing that if they label their work as a "demo," the wolves might leave them alone. It is a heartbreaking and ridiculous dynamic. People should be able to express themselves freely without being criminalized by a self-appointed jury.
The mob's logic is completely warped. I watched one woman post original poems accompanied by AI-generated images to visually represent her words (which I often do myself). The circle swarmed her, claiming that because the image used AI, her entire poem must be a fraud too. It is a toxic leap in logic designed solely to strip creators of their confidence and their voice.
The Inner Circle's Hidden Agenda
These groups operate with a hidden agenda to gatekeep the platform. They don't stumble onto your music or your poetry by accident. They share links in private circles, agreeing in advance to swarm a comment section one right after the other. It is a systematic attempt to overwhelm creators and chase them away. Watching this happen left and right to others — and experiencing it myself — revealed just how malicious and intentional this environment can be.
Walking Away with Clarity
Leaving the platform after a short time wasn't an act of defeat, nor was it an emotional reaction to a bad day. As a verified member, choosing to close my account was a refusal to finance or participate in a rigged, toxic game.
You can find good individuals in bad systems, but you shouldn't have to pay a premium or dodge a hidden wolfpack just to share your art. I feel deeply for the creators still trapped in that cycle, lowering their voices just to avoid the swarm.
Facade of Professionalism
Your creative worth is never defined by an insular mob hiding behind polished professional titles. Fake mentors try to solicit you; connections send quick praise just to gain your trust. It was incredibly draining to watch a coordinated group of people target you and others just to tear down your work. What I experienced was a real phenomenon called "brigading," where users band together to bully creators. They want to dictate who belongs on the platform. They use mass intimidation to silence unique voices. Success for them means chasing the creator away completely. They view independent creators, and outsiders as threats. They attack to keep the platform sounding exactly like them. They use a professional facade to mask high school-level bullying.
Walking Away is Power
Deleting my account protects peace of mind. One's real worth is not tied to an online source. Real growth happens offline and in safe spaces. My leaving was a refusal to let an insular circle of insignificant noise dictate the worth of my art. True professional growth and genuine creative community do not exist in spaces where organized hostility is disguised as networking. By walking away, I protected my peace, kept my integrity intact, and stepped out of a wolf den that was never designed to let unique voices thrive.
